Secora launches in Adelaide with Industrial AI After Hours

In early August 2025, Secora officially launched its presence in Adelaide with its first Industrial AI After Hours event, welcoming more than 60 guests from across industry, defence, government and academia.

Held in a relaxed after-hours format, the evening created a valuable opportunity to connect with the local industry, share practical perspectives on industrial AI, and mark a major milestone for Secora in South Australia.

A new home for Secora in the city

The event also marked the opening of our new Adelaide office in The Hub in the CBD. This space will be home to our newly formed Garage team – Secora’s hands-on, build-fast innovation unit – headed up by Ana Kuusk.

The Garage will focus on turning real industrial challenges into operational AI solutions, working closely with customers and partners to move quickly from idea to impact.

Speakers sparking strong conversation

Guests heard from a great line-up of local speakers who brought real-world experience and fresh thinking to the conversation:

  • Shaun Edsall – IFS

  • Antonio Parrella – Consunet

  • Karin Swiatnik – Strategy in the City

  • Professor Markus Stumptner – UniSA Industrial AI

Their insights highlighted both the opportunity and urgency for industrial AI adoption, and set up an evening of discussion around where the sector is heading next.

Powered by emerging talent

A key part of the Adelaide Garage model is our partnership with UniSA Industrial AI. The team is strengthened by UniSA Industrial AI students completing internships with Secora, bringing new capability and energy into real delivery work.

Secora was pleased to welcome five new UniSA Industrial AI interns at the event.

Leadership on the ground

The launch was supported by Secora’s leadership team, with John Grout, Paul Sheather, David Walter and Leanne Mitchell attending alongside colleagues from across the business. Their presence underscored Secora’s commitment to South Australia and to the growing industrial AI community in the state.

Looking ahead

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the launch such a strong start. The Adelaide Garage is now open, the team is in place, and Secora looks forward to working with partners and customers to advance industrial AI capability across South Australia.
