Industrial AI After Hours #2

Adelaide was buzzing on 5 November 2025 – not just with Metallica in town, but with the energy of innovators and industry professionals gathering for our second Industrial AI After Hours event.

Hosted by Secora Garage at the Gallery, the evening brought together a mix of local industry leaders, tech practitioners, researchers, and government representatives.

The goal was simple: create an easy, after-work space to talk about what industrial AI looks like in practice. Not hype, not theory – real applications, real challenges, and real opportunities.

A room full of practical AI conversations

From the first drink to the final question, the conversation stayed grounded in the realities of deploying AI in complex, high-stakes environments. A few themes kept popping up across the night:

  • Safe, efficient deployment – What good governance looks like when you’re taking AI from prototype to plant floor.

  • Edge and environmental computing – Where real-time AI is heading, especially for remote operations and tough physical conditions.

  • Human-in-the-loop systems – How teams are blending automation with operator insight to lift reliability and trust.

What stood out most was the shared appetite for practical progress. People weren’t asking “Should we use AI?”; they were asking “How do we use it well?”

Live demos from AICRAFT

A highlight of the night was having our industry colleagues, AICRAFT, bringing a series of live demonstrations which showed their approach to real-time object recognition and mapping.

Seeing the tech in action added real weight to the discussion. Their examples helped connect the dots between emerging capability and on-the-ground application – especially for organisations looking at automation, inspection, asset monitoring, and situational awareness in industrial settings.

The demos sparked plenty of follow-up questions, and it was great to see people digging into the details – what it takes to make systems robust, how to manage datasets responsibly, and where the next frontier is for real-time industrial AI.

Thanks for making it a great night

A genuine thank you to everyone who joined us. These sessions only work because people show up ready to share what they’re learning – what’s working, what isn’t, and what they want to explore next.

Industrial AI After Hours is about connecting ideas, people, and possibilities. And 5 November 2025 proved again that Adelaide has a strong, growing community ready to shape what industrial AI becomes in the real world.
